Where the year went
Why we made fewer videos this year 👀
It was deliberate. And here is everything still to come before the year is out.
Hey y’all,
A bit of a state of the union this week. Where the year went, why the channel has been quieter, and everything we have still got coming.
Plus who I think the MVP of YGT is, and why I took the pick a lot of you thought I got wrong.

01The year

We did not know if we could top last year
Every year we sit there wondering the same thing.
This year has been a lot of growth. Stepping up the contest, getting to some unbelievable golf courses, some great collabs, and actually bringing YGT to life.

Every year we go, I do not know what we can do this year. Can we beat last year? Can we at least stay on pace? Last year was great. We did a lot of cool things and filmed great videos. This year surpassed it.

And now I look at next year and think there is no way we get better than this. Then we will probably circle back next year going, how on earth do we stay on pace with 2026?
02The trade-off

Fewer videos, and no tournament
You noticed. Here is what it bought.
YGT has been a massive undertaking. We knew going in we would have to slow down somewhere and that the cadence on the channel might be off.

In years past three videos a month was easy, sometimes four. This year there have been months where we only put out one, because YGT takes so long to film, edit and produce. That was the risk we were willing to take to make this thing happen.

The International Series Philippines last year. The kind of week we could not make happen in 2026.
Same with tournaments. We always start a year wanting to play a professional event, but YouTube is the priority and this year it did not fit. The Asian Tour last year was amazing, and I really wish we could have got to the DP World one. We just could not make it happen. Hopefully there is an opportunity somewhere next year.
03The slate

Everything we have got left this year
Some of this is already filmed and sat waiting on a release date.
Two videos with Bob Does Sports and Grant, already in the can. Everyone loves a collab week and this could be the best one we have done. Fun, funny, some high-level golf and some extremely low-level golf. It has got everything you want.
The Bryan Bros with Bob Does Sports and Grant.
Collab week. Both of these are already filmed and waiting on a date.
The next Major Cut is edited and ready. We are just picking the moment.

Wesley playing with his YGT team at Solina. A college one, where we host a college event and find out whether the players can beat me and Wesley, or whether the two of us can beat an entire field.

Another YGT. And then a slew of one-on-ones to close the year out.
04The draft

I was taking Tooms no matter what
A lot of you thought I got this one wrong.
I went into the draft with one rule. As long as Tooms was on the board, that is who I am picking.

I was not looking at who is playing well and who is not. I wanted Tooms. He was my first pick, and it is because we do not see each other or play together much. I have been a fan of his for a while and I knew we could vibe and film fun videos.

A lot of the comments said I should have taken Sean Walsh. And look, Sean has been playing some unreal golf this year, not just at YGT.

But that is not what I was picking on.
The MVP question
Who has been the MVP of YGT?
Harder than it sounds, and one of my answers is not a player.
Sean Walsh has the best golf game at YGT this year. Arguably the best on YouTube this year, full stop.

Micah is right in it too. He had a lot riding on this. People said he was not good enough and did not deserve to be there, and he has shown up, been clutch and played extremely well. That shot he hit on 18 for eagle at Rams Hill was insane.

Ruffles and Brad are in that conversation as well.

And I am putting Rams Hill in the MVP race. The staff were amazing, it showed brilliantly on camera, and I know us players loved playing it.
Next up is Cutalong in Virginia. Around 7,300 off the tips, more tree-lined, and it should play firm and fast.
Play: how to aim, from Pelli Golf.
Pelli’s tip of the week
You are aiming right 👀
This week it is Bryce, who aims right. So do most of us.
Most players aim their feet straight at the flag. You want to be parallel left of it. Railroad tracks: the ball is on the far rail, you stand on the near one.

Lay two sticks down, build yourself a gate, and look down and through it instead of over your shoulder.
Who is behind this one
Shout out to Engineered Sleep, who have been a big part of this year for us. They are out of South Carolina, and we have been running a $100,000 series with them all year. Those one-on-ones carry on right through to the end of the year.

That is the year, more or less.
Fewer videos, one very big tour, and a lot still to come before December.
George
P.S. 👀 There is a new format at Cutalong and I am not allowed to tell you what it is yet. Hit reply with your guess and I will tell you if anybody gets close.
