What it actually takes to film YGT 👀

Take a Major Cut. Then multiply it.

What the camera setup actually looks like at a YGT event.

Easiest way to explain it is this. A Major Cut video usually runs one or two A cams, a drone guy and a B cam. So four or five people filming one group.

Now picture this shot happening on every tee, in every group, all day long.

Now do that for every single group on the course. Four to five people filming, per group, all day. Same coverage, over and over.

So a YGT event is basically a Major Cut times however many groups are out there. That is genuinely the whole answer. It is a lot of people, and they are all really good at this.

 

The first one felt like a shoot. This one felt like a family.

Sixteen players, a full production crew, and a week that did not feel like work.

First time round, all of us turned up not really knowing what to expect. Sixteen guys coming to go and film a video.

This time it felt like a bunch of friends making something cool together. Production and players eating dinner together, commuting together, one big group. Everybody wanted to win the golf tournament. Everybody also wanted to make something people would enjoy.

Stop 2. Not a bad office for a week.

You might be able to see it in the videos. You might only feel it in person. Either way it was there, and it was the best part of the week.

We want to be something different in golf. Uplifting, encouraging, fun. That week felt like it.

 

What actually makes a great YGT venue

Two stops in, two that worked. The formula is shorter than you think.

It is not the golf course. The course can be hard, easy, whatever it wants to be.

It is two things. Accommodation on site or close by, so all of us are in one place all week. And a staff that actually wants us there. Warm, welcoming, excited about the week.

That is the list. That is the whole list. We have had the luck of both on the first two stops and you can feel the difference it makes. We could not have asked for a better start.
