How does Wesley hit three wood fine but struggle with driver? Asked on YouTube Honestly? Wesley kind of stinks with both. But the three wood plays a lot more like an iron. You hit down on it more, and his iron swing is great. It might not be textbook, but in the ways that matter, he is an elite ball striker with an iron. That just does not translate to the driver. He is also more confident with the three wood and does not have the mental oopsies he has with the driver at times. So it is a little physical and a lot mental, because you can overcome bad mechanics with a great mentality. Poor mechanics plus some mental hurdles, as do we all. ![]() lol at ai Here is the thing, though. As I write this, Wesley’s driver is elite. He has hardly missed a fairway, and it is kind of disgusting, because when Wesley hits fairways, he plays some insane golf. |
Should the same player be stopped from sitting out more than once? Asked on YouTube, and the most-liked comment we found Good question, and something we will definitely consider. I will be honest, I struggle with this one. I only want to win, and I want to put the best team out every week. This year Josh Kelly has been the number four on our team at times, so sitting him felt like our best chance in the first two events. Did it work? No. And Josh can beat any of us on any day. He has beaten me by seven or eight shots over nine holes before. But I get it. Making everyone sit is better content, it creates drama, and it is fun. The New Zealand squad has been helping me see that golf does not have to be so serious all the time. So shout out Tooms, Sam, Kwon and Nick Voke for showing me the fun, chaotic side of golf. |
When did Micah turn into such an elite player? Asked on YouTube He has always had the skill set. Hitting it long and solid is something you cannot teach, and his mechanics were always pretty good. What he lacked was an understanding of how golf is actually supposed to be played. He was pretty raw. ![]() As soon as he started working with Pelli this year, you could see him understand the game more, on top of tightening up his swing. Watching him turn into a really good player has been a lot of fun. Shout out Pelli. |
Are any of those putters going in the bag? Asked on Instagram Yep. Takomo putter is in the bag. I repeat: Takomo putter is in the bag. I have wanted to get back to a blade for a while, and when we heard Takomo was making a putter, we kept that spot open. They made a low-torque blade that looks a lot like a putter I putted well with for years. It is not zero torque like a LAB, just low torque, so I get some of that LAB feel but can still get a little handsy and athletic with it. It is a feel I have never had from a blade. We actually put it in the bag early in the year, but it was still a prototype and did not feel quite right, so we took it out. The final version has been really solid, my stroke feels good, and the price point is great. If we did not putt well with it, we would not have switched. And that is why Wesley ditched the LAB too. We want to be putting with Takomo. |

How many balls do Joey and Bob lose on a course like that? Asked on YouTube Oh man. You would need multiple dozens of golf balls. It is entertaining, let’s put it that way. |
St Andrews: the Old Course Major Cut Asked on YouTube, and now confirmed ![]() The Swilcan Bridge, St Andrews Next week. Confirmed. Let’s go. After rethinking it, I think this could be my favorite Major Cut yet, and I will tell y’all why next week. I thought about sending you the trailer, but it would spoil the results, so you are just going to have to trust me on this one. |
