The Internet Invitational Friends became enemies for a week 👀 The Santino clip, why this year felt more ramped up, and how YGT is a different thing. |

George vs Wesley A $100k 1v1. Brother against brother, 82 minutes, out now. |
I don’t think it was a bit It caught me off guard. ![]() Santino and Wesley, trading comments on the tee. That clip is real life now, and it did not seem like a bit. Off camera, it felt like he was annoyed at Wesley and genuinely thought pros shouldn’t be there. My thought: there are a lot of pros here, not just us. Then my “bring it” moment. I didn’t even know there were cameras on us. I was half joking. Bob texted me that he loved it, so I watched it. Kind of funny. But also, man, let’s bring it. Let’s play a match. |
Friends became enemies for the week Everyone wanted to win that badly. Dave and the crew build a format all 64 of us buy into, and with that many different golfers, drama just happens. You cannot script these things. With a bigger purse, everyone turned from friend to borderline enemy. I think that is exactly how Dave wanted it. It was just more ramped up this year than last year. |
We are not competition Two similar things. Two very different things. People say we copied the Invitational. I just don’t see us as competition. → YGT is built on the golf. A crossover between YouTube golf and high-level pro golf. Drama comes second. → The Invitational wants drama. The golf matters, but chaos is the point. → They have one massive event. We are building a tour, telling the story over a whole season, for years. Want high-level golf? That’s YGT. Want crazy, ridiculous stuff with real pressure? That’s the Invitational. |
Dave wanted to see me choke Chaos is the point. That’s not a knock. ![]() Dave, hoping I miss. In episode one I have a putt, and Dave walks up and says he wants to see me choke. As a viewer, sure, you want chaos. I was already nervous enough. YGT is different: clean, family-friendly, and the golf comes first. We’re not there to get clipped. If drama happens, it happens. It’s not “I watched the Invitational, so I don’t need YGT.” They’re two separate things. |

How they pull it off And who should have been there. 64 players, that many cameras, all in-house, and it runs smoothly. Shout-out to Lisa at Barstool, who basically does everything. And I can’t believe Sean wasn’t there. Great player, and he adds value to anything he’s in. |
That is the week. The Santino clip, friends turned enemies, and why YGT is a different thing. ![]() P.S. 👀 Episode two drops Thursday. Watching along? Hit reply and tell me what you make of it. |
